What's the Better Way to Stream?
Fast, dedicated, but expensive.
4k HDR Streaming – 4K gives you a crisper picture using four times more pixels than standard HD. High Dynamic Range (HDR) delivers brighter, more realistic colors and greater detail.
A10X Fusion chip with 64-bit architecture – Has the speed to deliver HDR 4k.
Dolby Atmos and Vision – fully immersive three-dimensional audio and HDR Video
With thousands of apps, Airplay 2, and a constantly updated archicture, it’s the clear choice.
The cheaper 4k alternative.
With a quad core processor the Roku can handle 4k HDR wireless streaming. It is now $79.99 versus $179.99 for the Apple TV If Airplay or apple media are not important it is good dedicated alternative.
It’s also a great alternative for Android and Windows users. There are a number of Android apps, and you can even mirror your android or windows compatible devices to the Roku.
Television manufacturers have been making so-called Smart TVs for some time. With a wireless connection, these televisions can stream almost the same programming both the Apple TV, and Roku product can do with one significant difference. It’s doing so without the robust and dedicated hardware and software that these stand-alone units have.
Updates are not a priority for most smart TV manufacturers. Smart TVs have become cheaper, because part of their business model is selling your viewing habits to 3rd party interests.
Smart TVs are a good alternative if convenience is your most important need.
